Seymour Chwast inspired sleeve folder design.
A tribute to Seymour Chwast

Seymour Chwast was the co-founder of Pushpin Studios; a graphic design and illustration studio formed in New York City in 1954. His designs and illustrations were always witty and colorful and a beguiling sense of humor always underpins his illustration. In tribute to Seymour Chwast's and his contributions, I have designed a sleeve folder together with a booklet containing a brief introuduction of Seymour Chwast and Pushpin Studios. The design was inspired by Seymour's wittiness and colors seen in his works.
Sleeve folder: The idea behind the design of the folder was to celebrate Seymour Chwast's achievements and success; the Pushpin Studio which is now in its sixty-first year. Seymour Chwast continues to work and design under the aegis of Pushpin. The Statue of Liberty is replaced by Seymour Chwast and the torch is replaced by a pushpin. Seymour Chwast always appears smoking a pipe and this was the reason for including it inside. It was part of Seymour's identity.

Booklet: The layout seen above was inspired by Seymour Chwast's playful and expressive approach to type and layout. The illustration is bright and vibrant similar to the streets vibe in NYC.
